REMotion

REMotion: A multidimensional study of the correlates of dreaming based on several of its distortions, including experiential phenomena in epilepsy and REM sleep behaviour disorders.

We propose an original approach to access the neurological correlates of dreams based on various pathological models in humans.

(1) By analysing ‘déjà-rêvé’, an experiential phenomenon that differs from déjà-vu but is reported by some epileptic patients and probably healthy subjects.

(2) By analysing REM sleep, where dream activity is rich, and associated behavioural disorders (RBD). We will determine whether there are specific clinical characteristics of RBD (emotions, movements) unique to different pathological groups (narcolepsy, synucleinopathies, idiopathic RBD, Alzheimer’s disease) through a retrospective analysis of polysomnography videos and the use of a deep-learning algorithm.
